THE VERMONT BUSINESS CENTER KICKS OFF THE 2005 LEADERSHIP LECTURE SERIES

At a time when the entire business community seems to be looking to Alan Greenspan for insights to their future, the Vermont Business Center (VBC) begins its Leadership Lecture Series with Robert Moore, Ph.D., of ONETEAM for a fresh perspective on the future of leadership in business.

The 2005 VBC Leadership Lecture Series is about Unconventional Leadership in Demanding Times.  "Sustainable Winning" is the theme for the kick-off lecture on March 10, 2005 at Memorial Lounge in the Waterman Building on UVM’s Burlington Campus.  From 5:30 PM to 6:30 PM, Bob Moore will help the business community understand how to be tough on business and easy on people and how to balance the two to ensure the business sustains itself and prospers.

The Leadership Lecture Series events are free and open to the public. Lecture topics will vary, but the overarching objective of the series will be to provide innovative leadership concepts from distinguished speakers and panelists. The lectures will offer not only progressive business ideas but an opportunity to network with other business leaders facing similar challenges and successes in their organizations.  Future speakers include Former White House Correspondent Donald Rheem on July 8, 2005 and Dr. Lisa Lang on November 3, 2005.  More information can be found on the VBC website (http://www.uvm.edu/vbc).

As an initiative of the University of Vermont’s School of Business Administration and Continuing Education Division, the Vermont Business Center draws upon the strength of the School’s faculty expertise, networks and research to manage the development and delivery of business and leadership education programs that connect the resources of UVM (and outside) with the needs of growth businesses, organizations and individuals in the region.  Founded in January 2004, the Vermont Business Center is celebrating its first anniversary by providing these free events to the public to help launch an annual series featuring compelling stories and lectures from the nation’s thought leaders.

The Vermont Business Center also provides education and training to Vermont's businesses through management development seminars and customized training.
