Wireless Network?

To access your X-Drive while connected through the Wireless Network:

  • Right click My Computer and select 'Map Network Drive'
  • Select a Drive Letter (does not have to be X)
  • In the Folder text box type \\marge\YourNetID
  • Be sure the Reconnect at Login check box is checked.
  • Click Finish. 

All WiFi devices require the UVM VPN Client to access the UVM sanctioned WiFi Network, Cat's PAWS
Have you installed the University of Vermont VPN client?  If not:

  1. Go to www.uvm.edu/software
  2. Select Cisco VPN Client and click Download
  3. Select Open from Current Location.
  4. After unzipping, it will state that installing this will change your IP settings, Click Yes to accept this change.
  5. Go through the install and Accept all of the default answers.
  6. At the end of the installation it will prompt you to restart, do so.

After restarting:

Windows XP: You need to tell your wireless card what network you want to connect too.  Try the following:

  • Go to StartàConnect ToàWireless Network Connection.
  • Select Cat's PAWS and hit connect.

Anytime you want to use the University of Vermont Wireless Network you need to do the following:

  • Go to your start menuàProgramsàCisco (University of Vermont) VPN Clientà Secure Network Access
  • Here you will press Continue and then enter your Zoo user name and password. 
  • If you have forgotten your zoo account credentials or have never activated your account, go to the following site and change your password or activate your account: www.uvm.edu/account.
