Two minors are available for students with majors outside of the School of Business Administration, a
Minor in Accounting and a
Minor in Business Administration. For either minor, students need to submit an application and successfully complete the prerequisite courses. Applications are available in Student Services,

MINOR APPLICATIONTo be awarded a Minor in Accounting, a student must earn at least a 2.0 cumulative gpa in the minor courses. The minor gpa consists of BSAD 60 & BSAD 61 and four upper-level accounting courses from the list outlined below.

PREREQUISITE COURSES
The four prerequisite courses must be completed with a GPA of at least a 2.0 before you can be admitted to the Minor in Accounting.
- ECON 11 - Macroeconomics
- ECON 12 - Microeconomics
- MATH 19 or 21 - Calculus
- STAT 141 or STAT 111 AND STAT 211 - Statistics*
*Economics Majors Only - ECON 170 can be used to complete the Stat requirement.
- BSAD 60 AND BSAD 61 - Financial & Managerial Accounting
BSAD 60 & BSAD 61 must be completed with a C (2.0) in each course to be admitted to the Accounting Minor. We recommend that you complete these courses as soon as possible after your first year. If you plan to graduate in four years, these must be completed by the end of your junior year.
COMPUTER COMPETENCY
Students are presumed to have basic microcomputer literacy, including a working knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet software. Students lacking this basic knowledge are responsible for attaining it through course work, self study, tutorials or workshops.
