Mission and Objectives

The Student Advisory Committee (SAC) to the Dean and Associate Dean of the School of Business Administration is dedicated to increasing communication between students and faculty in order to improve the quality of education and the general culture in our School.

Members of the SAC commit themselves to the following three core values:

  1. Innovation
    - active involvement in the identification of new practices and ongoing assessment of existing practices to assure that positive, creative change enhances the BSAD community
  2. Leadership
    - active solicitation of and reflection upon the student input to provide a strong representation of the student body's academic and professional needs
    -direct involvement in community projects
  3. Collaboration
    - direct participation to provide a means of communication between Deans, faculty, staff, alumni and students

In keeping with the mission of our committee, the following are our goals for the 2007-2008 academic year:

  1. To improve faculty and student advising:
    • Increase advising program awareness
    • Encourage student to faculty relationships
    • Raise knowledge of faculty as a beneficial resource
  2. To progress peer to peer advising:
    • Enhance the Peer Mentor program
    • Build peer to peer relationships
    • Promote students to seek other students for assistance
    • Encourage experienced students to volunteer as mentors
  3. To better the interaction within community:
    • Create a student directory for faculty use
    • Continue effort of creating the BSAD Experience
