Recognition by the business press for her leadership acumen continues to grow. Most recently Charlene T. Begley was named to the Wall Street Journal's "50 Women to Watch." This follows her appearance on Fortune magazine's "50 Most Powerful Women in Business." A 1988 graduate of the business school, Charlene honed her data driven decision-making skills as the teaching assistant to Len Tashman's Forecasting class.
This summer, Charlene was named president and CEO of GE Enterprise Solutions, a new business that is focused on helping GE’s global customers increase their productivity through superior information management and automation solutions.
Begley, 40, has previously led GE’s Plastics, Transportation and GE Fanuc Automation units. She most recently served in a corporate role to help close the sale of GE Plastics to Saudi Basic Industries Corporation (SABIC). Begley and Jim Campbell, president and CEO of GE Consumer & Industrial, will report to GE Vice Chairman Lloyd Trotter through the end of 2007, when they will report to Immelt.
