Marketing Club Looks Ahead to 2009-2010

In February, a record of 20 members participated in the annual networking trip to NYC where they visited NASDAQ, Polo Ralph Lauren, News America Marketing, Wieden+Kennedy, Peppercom and NY & Company. Overall, the trip was a tremendous success and, along with positive feedback, students got many tips in career and job search, internships and resumes.

While the 2008-2009 academic year is coming to a close, the planning for the upcoming year is in full swing - at least for the Marketing Club.  Discussions of goals for the upcoming year have already begun.  The president-elect, Kylie Webster, hopes to increase networking opportunities and get more members involved in the community.

She shares her perspective of the club: "I see The Marketing Club as a benefit not only for those interested in a concentration within the Marketing field, but for everyone interested in developing relationships with those in the business community.  Members of the Marketing Club are lucky enough to have the opportunity to meet new students, interact with local businesses, hear from alumni, and get a variety of advice from very successful, interesting companies."

This year the Marketing Club achieved a record membership of 61, raised over $1,700, hosted various speaker events and networking opportunities. It was also nominated for the Academic Club of the Year award.
