Mary G. Powell, President & CEO, Green Mountain Power, as part of the School's Hoffman Lecture Series, presented "Leadership Under Fire - Troubled Times Require Great Courage." Ms. Powell currently serves as President and Chief Executive Officer for Green Mountain Power Corporation.  Since joining Green Mountain Power Corporation, Mary has driven performance improvement through organization redesign.  Most recently, she has initiated and implemented a strategic and comprehensive restructuring program which dramatically transformed Green Mountain Power.

Originally from New York, New York, Mary started her career in the mutual fund industry. Since moving to Vermont in 1989, Mary has worked for the State of Vermont and as a Senior Vice President at a large VT Bank. Mary currently serves as Chair for the Vermont Land Trust as well as serves on the boards of Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Vermont, NSA, Building Bright Futures and Champlain College.
