Dr. Wilson will assist colleagues and students at Lincoln University in the development of a spatially explicit, Non-market valuation database for New Zealand that will be capable of providing stakeholders with the ability to map explicit estimates of ecosystem service values across the NZ landscape. This will build upon, and expand, the work being done at the University of Vermont by Dr. Wilson (See http://ecovalue.uvm.edu).
Dr. Wilson will also assist the project team in the development, administration and analysis of a direct Choice Modelling survey of New Zealand residents to isolate the marginal values associated with key ecosystem goods and services in the Ag, Pastoral and Horticultural sectors. These data will be matched up with the non-market database estimates to test for convergent validity of key ecosystem service values.
