The Vermont Council on Economic Education, a non profit corporation, was founded in 2000. Our mission is to promote economic literacy in Vermont by providing economic instruction and resource materials to Vermont teachers at all grade levels in public and independent schools. We help teachers learn how to teach economic concepts, economic principles, and the economic way of thinking to Vermont’s school children.

We believe that economic literacy and a knowledge of economics is vitally important for all children’s future success. Our vision is for Vermont’s students to

• Better understand how our economy works.
• Make better choices as consumers, savers, investors, and citizens.
• Become more knowledgeable and productive members of the Vermont workforce.
• Make Vermont businesses more productive and competitive in today’s economy and in the future.
• Become more informed participants in a global economy.
