The IPMA Assessment Council (IPMAAC) The IPMA Assessment Council (IPMAAC) is an organization of personnel assessment professionals with more than 600 members actively engaged in applications, research, and training in personnel assessment to meet the needs of public and private organizations. IPMAAC's members include personnel directors and managers, specialists in staffing, recruiting, and organizational performance management, psychologists, attorneys, management consultants, academic faculty and students, and others sharing professional interests and expertise in the development and effective use of personnel assessment methods.
The Employment Management Association (EMA) The Employment Management Association (EMA) is a group of 4,300 HR professional who specialize in recruitment and selection areas. The goal of the EMA is to educate and develop HR professionals who work in these areas. You will need to be a member to access most of their services, which include a discussion board, a quarterly index, and other services.
International Association of Career Management Professionals International Association of Career Management Professionals- Dedicated to meeting the associative needs of the career management professional. Not specifically a site dedicated to employee selection, but it does have a wealth of links to consultants and products specifically related to employee selection.
International Personnel Management Association An association that provides a full range of support services and resource to HR directors. The focus is on public sector job analysis and selection, but products like interview training and test development will help any HR professional interested in improving selection techniques. The IPMA offers directed research and other services to members, but the wealth of the links and research resources on this site are free.
Institute for Job and Occupational Analysis This is a scholarly organization that serves as a clearinghouse for current research and thought on Occupational Analysis (OA). They provide the minutes of several forums on OA and links to current scholarly projects. This is a good place to get started if you want to know how analyzing the jobs you offer will improve the way select the proper individuals to fill those jobs.
The Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) A definitive source for Human Resource news and information. The SHRM site has a reading room, and information center, pointers to goods and services, and links that will help you join and get more information about this organization. You must be a member to access some of these services, but if you're serious about the Human Resource industry, chances are you already are a member.
Human Resource Planning Society The Human Resource Planning Society, founded in 1977, is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing current viewpoints on complex and challenging HR and business issues. Its site offers access to a world-class network of HR and business professionals through an Electronic Directory searchable database.
The National Association for Health Care Recruitment The National Association for Health Care Recruitment provides leadership and support for the health care recruiting profession through advocacy, education, and professional development. A non-profit, 800-member national professional association, the NAHCR offers facility-based health care recruiters and human resources professionals information, education, and networking opportunities to help them meet the increasingly challenging needs of modern health care recruitment.
International Society for Performance Improvement The International Society for Performance Improvement focuses on improving employees performance and recognizing the causes of low performance. The discussions and services available on this site have direct implications for selecting top performers.
National Academy of Professional Administration The Center for Human Resource Management's National Academy of Professional Administration offers the latest and greatest of CHRM?s reports on HR best practices and cutting edge tools and techniques. Focus is on organizational performance.
