Laws which you are now required to follow |
60+: No new laws apply at 60 employees. However, there are laws at higher employment levels (for example, the WARN act covering layoffs -- explained in detail at http://www.dol.gov/asp/programs/guide/layoffs.htm -- applies at 100 employees). Organizations at this level need to constantly be aware of changes in employment law, and make sure that their organization adapts to those changes. If there is not a process at the organization that monitors changes in employment law, this is the time to create that mechanism.

60+: Congratulations on reaching this level. As the organization continues to grow, with complexities mounting and opportunities blossoming, employees at all levels become even more important in meeting the objectives of the firm -- the boss can't do it all anymore. Make an investment in your people, and they in turn will make an investment in your organization.
