One might attribute part of Jeff Steinhorn's success to his quick wit and sense-of-humor.  When questioned about the keys to his success, his immediate response was, "You mean, aside from my charm and good looks?"  But he views his success as a result of being well-rounded in his career.  As a Senior VP and CIO of Linens 'n Things, he has a combination of skills in business as well as in technology.

Mr. Steinhorn began as a consultant with Accenture (formerly Andersen Consulting), where he worked for 16 years focusing on retail consulting.  This involved a combination of business process and business strategy consulting along with systems integration and development.  Now, as CIO for Linens 'n Things, he is responsible for the information services and technology strategies of the company.  He has been with the company for 1 ½ years.

Though he is not a psychologist, Mr. Steinhorn feels that the psychology-side of his job is every bit as important as the Vice President-side of his job.  He believes in the importance of working well with people.  It is necessary to understand what makes others tick and to get along with them in order to be able to get things done.

Mr. Steinhorn's wife, Debbie Herman, also graduated from UVM in 1985.  They have two young children and enjoy spending time together outdoors, biking and hiking.  Mr. Steinhorn is also a racquetball fan and enjoys playing in his spare time.
